On this day, in 1897,  Armenian terrorists attempt three bomb attacks in Istanbul (then Constantinople). One of the bombs fail to explode. The second terrorist gets caught while he was trying to ignite the bomb. The third, unfortunately, succeeds and kills at least one person and wounds several others.
